Class 11- February 11, 2011

  In class today, Dr. Smirnova told us about Smartboard. She created a program on the Smartboard with balloons that she let all three big tables of people to go through. My table was group one. Each group had four members come up to pop the balloons. Which of these terms belong to Traditional Constructivist Instruction? was the title of the Smartboard balloon activity that Dr. Smirnova made. Dr. Smirnova said that the people who came up would have to explain why they word would be associated with traditional or constructivist instruction. The charts are the results of the Smartboard activity.

   After doing the Smartboard activity and letting each group have a chance, the whole class had a discuss about what feature make a good presentation: posture, volume, clarity, confidence, attitude, knowledge, expression, elaborate and systematic, ideas on slide, energy, time management, and engaging the audience. Then Group One: MST Maniacs presented their observation report for Float Sink, or?? Group Four: Sunflowers also presented their observation report for Float Sink, or?? We were suppose to give these groups peer feedback. 




It is important to use the Smart Board activity in the classroom. It is good to use different activities on the Smart Board. I would use the balloon thing that Dr. Smirnova used in today's class. It is a good and fun activity for students to do. I would also use the vortex game with different objects as a  way to compare and contrast different objects. By using the Smart Board I as the teacher are using technology. It is to use the Smart Board because this is a technology world and Smart Boards are in classroom today so students are getting use to using and practice on the Smart Board. I could also use the Jeopardy game board for Smart Board. There are many other activities that as a teacher I could use on the Smart Board to help engage my students in the lesson. Students can be engaged by allowing the students to go up to the Smart Board and learn how to use the Smart Board and learn from the different activities and programs I as the teacher use from the Smart Board. 


The importance and categories for a good presentation are important to have when becoming a teacher. These are some of the things that help make a good presentation go well  posture, volume, clarity, confidence, attitude, knowledge, expression, elaborate and systematic, ideas on slide, energy, time management, and engaging the audience. It is important for students to have these characteristics to give a good presentation for jobs that have you speak a lot. As a teacher it is important to have good volume, good posture, and confidence to address your classroom. It is also important to be knowledgeable for every subject you teach and to have the knowledge to answer children's questions. It is also important as a teacher to engage the students and to have energy and engage the students to listen to your presentation or lecture as a teacher
